UCU is a member of the Credit Union Central of Ontario (CUCO). It serves as the trade organization and central financial facility of 250 Ontario credit unions. Member deposits are insured through UCU`s membership in the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario (DICO). UCU is regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.

UCU also belongs to the Council of Ukrainian Credit Unions of Canada and the World Council of Ukrainian Co-Operatives where it works with others to assist in the development of credit unions in Ukraine.
