Jerry Pryshlak


Mr. Jerry (Jaroslaw) Pryshlak is retired. He has experience in various jobs and capacities. He owned his own retail business in St. Catharines, Ontario, and was the Business Manager of the Niagara YMCA, where he worked in accounting and project management. He also spent many years at General Motors working in the construction division, and was involved in the coordination and execution of many large projects.

For eighteen years Mr. Pryshlak served on the board of the Ukrainian (St. Catharines) Credit Union before its merger with Ukrainian Credit Union Limited. Of the eighteen years, three years were as President of the Board. He also served on the Supervisory Committee as member and chair. Since the merger with UCU, Mr. Pryshlak has served on various committees, and has been the Secretary of the Board of UCU for the last five years. He sits on the Supervisory Committee of the Council of the Credit Unions of Canada.

Mr. Pryshlak has been active in the Niagara Ukrainian community all his life, as a member of Plast, musician for the Dunai Dance Ensemble, member of various committees for the community, and a member of St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church council. He is the secretary of the St. Catharines UNF branch.

Mr. Pryshlak holds a Bachelor of Administration degree from Brock University, has participated in the CUDA training for Directors,  and has completed the Professional Directors Program with Level Five. He has attended numerous credit union conferences and seminars to maintain his skills and knowledge of the credit union system. Mr. Pryshlak believes that strong governance is the way to a strong Ukrainian Credit Union!
