To open a ucublu too account, you need to first be a member of UCU with a regular full service personal (non-business/non-organizational) account, as ucublu too works in tandem with that account. If you are already a member, complete the on-line Enrollment form and you will be contacted by the next business day to activate your account. Please see below if you are currently not a member.

The electronic deposit of funds keeps costs down and allows us to pass on the savings to you in the form of NO Fee daily transactions and competitive TIERED INTEREST. If you are not currently a member of UCU, you need to visit one of our branches to become a member. If you complete the on-line Enrollment form, you will be contacted within two business days to make an appointment at a branch. You will need to bring two (2) pieces of legal ID (including one with photo; health card cannot be used) with you and a cheque from the bank account you would like to transfer funds from. Membership shares of $150 are required to become a member. Membership shares are not a fee - rather, they entitle you to co-ownership of the credit union and the ability to do business with it. Deposits can be made to your ucublu too account by transferring funds into the account from a full service personal (non-business/org.) account at UCU, from your ucublu High Interest Savings Account, from accounts at another financial institution, or by direct payroll or pension deposit. Cash or cheque deposits can also be made via UCU ATM. Deposits from another UCU account can only be done via our telephone or internet banking services, or an automatic transfer from a UCU personal (non-business/org.) account or a personal account from another FI. A transfer from a UCU account may also be made through our call centre, subject to the applicable service charge for transactions performed by our UCU Call Centre staff members. ucublu cheques can not be deposited to your own account. There is no minimum deposit amount required for the ucublu too account and interest is paid from the first dollar on your account. Interest is calculated on your daily closing balance, and paid monthly into your ucublu too account.

Withdrawals from your ucublu too account can be made directly from the account by Interac Direct Payment, (POS), ATM, automated bill payment, cheque, and electronic debit. Your ucublu too account is not eligible for in-branch withdrawals. Please note that transfers between ucublu too and your full service UCU account which you make for the purposes of facilitating a deposit or withdrawal at the counters of UCU, will be subject to a $15 service charge.

You may move money back and forth between your ucublu too account and your full service personal UCU account free of charge provided that the transfer is not made for the purposes of faciliating a deposit or withdrawal at the counters of UCU. You may also move money from your ucublu too account free of charge to your ucublu High Interest Savings Account. Please note that transfers between ucublu too and your full service UCU account which you make for the purposes of facilitating a deposit or withdrawal at the counters of UCU, will be subject to a $15 service charge. Also kindly note that unlike transfers from ucublu too, the second and subsequent transfer per month from your ucublu High Interest Savings Account is subject to a service charge. You cannot make deposits or withdrawals to your ucublu too account in-branch at the counters of UCU. Please note that transfers between ucublu too and your full service UCU account which you make for the purposes of facilitating a deposit or withdrawal at the counters of CUCU, will be subject to a $15 service charge.

No, a passbook is not available on the ucublu too account. You can view your statements any time through our internet banking.

Statements for the current month are available on line only, at no charge. Other statement requests will be subject to a $1.00 charge for the current month, and $5.00 for each previous month requested. Once per year, after the calendar year end, UCU will mail a statement to each ucublu too account holder.

Interest is calculated on daily closing balance and paid to your ucublu too account on the last day of each month.

The interest rate is a variable rate, and is subject to change without notice.

Depending on the type of deposit, a deposits ucublu too are subject to a 3 to 10 day hold. Interest will be paid from the date of deposit on all items that are not returned.

Apply on-line for an Overdraft limit of up to $5,000 for those times when you are short and avoid costly and embarrassing returned debits and cheques.. A rule of thumb is that your regular payroll deposit should be sufficient to bring your Overdraft balance to zero.
