1. How do I open a ucublu too Account?

To open a ucublu too account, you need to first be a member of UCU with a regular full service personal (non-business/non-organizational) account, as ucublu too works in tandem with that account. If you are already a member, complete the on-line Enrollment form and you will be contacted by the next business day to activate your account. Please see below if you are currently not a member.

2. How do I open a ucublu too No Fee Daily Account if I am already enrolled in ucublu?

You can use the streamlined express enrolment form for exisiting ucublu members accessible by clicking on Open an Account on the top navigation bar.

3. If I have never had a ucublu acount of any kind, do I have to enroll in ucublu High Interest Savings and ucublu too separately?

No, first time applicants to ucublu will be automatically considered for enrollment in both ucublu high interest savings and ucublu too. However, qualification for overdraft protection in conjunction with ucublu too, or for the issuance of a debit card or cheques, require additional simple steps.

4. Do I have to have direct payroll/pension deposit to qualify for ucublu too? Why?

You also need to have or establish a direct deposit of your regular payroll or monthly CPP & OAS to ucublu too, ucublu High Interest Savings, or another account in UCU. The electronic deposit of funds keeps costs down and allows us to pass on the savings to you in the form of NO Fee daily transactions and competitive TIERED INTEREST. Of course, you are welcome to make other deposits via UCU ATM’s for free.

5. What if I am not currently a UCU member?

If you are not currently a member of UCU, you need to visit one of our branches to become a member. If you complete the on-line Enrollment form, you will be contacted within two business days to make an appointment at a branch. You will need to bring two (2) pieces of legal ID (including one with photo; health card cannot be used) with you and a cheque from the bank account you would like to transfer funds from. Membership shares of $150 are required to become a member. Membership shares are not a fee - rather, they entitle you to co-ownership of the credit union and the ability to do business with it. 6. Can my ucublu too account be joint with another person?

Yes, provided that the full service account with which your ucublu too account is associated is a joint account, and does not require more than one signature to authorize a transaction.

7. Can my ucublu too be part of a trust account?

No.

8. How can I make a deposit to my ucublu too account?

Deposits can be made to your ucublu too account by transferring funds into the account from a full service personal (non-business/org.) account at UCU, from your ucublu High Interest Savings Account, from accounts at another financial institution, or by direct payroll or pension deposit. Cash or cheque deposits can also be made via UCU ATM. Deposits from another UCU account can only be done via our telephone or internet banking services, or an automatic transfer from a UCU personal (non-business/org.) account or a personal account from another FI. A transfer from a UCU account may also be made through our call centre, subject to the applicable service charge for transactions performed by our UCU Call Centre staff members. ucublu cheques can not be deposited to your own account. 9.Is there a minimum deposit amount on the ucublu too Account?

There is no minimum deposit amount required for the ucublu too account and interest is paid from the first dollar on your account. Interest is calculated on your daily closing balance, and paid monthly into your ucublu too account.

10. Can I make withdrawals from my ucublu too account?

Withdrawals from your ucublu too account can be made directly from the account by Interac Direct Payment, (POS), ATM, automated bill payment, cheque, and electronic debit. Your ucublu too account is not eligible for in-branch withdrawals. Please note that transfers between ucublu too and your full service UCU account which you make for the purposes of facilitating a deposit or withdrawal at the counters of UCU, will be subject to a $15 service charge.

11. Can I transfer between my ucublu too and other UCU accounts?

You may move money back and forth between your ucublu too account and your full service personal UCU account free of charge provided that the transfer is not made for the purposes of faciliating a deposit or withdrawal at the counters of UCU. You may also move money from your ucublu too account free of charge to your ucublu High Interest Savings Account. Please note that transfers between ucublu too and your full service UCU account which you make for the purposes of facilitating a deposit or withdrawal at the counters of UCU, will be subject to a $15 service charge. Also kindly note that unlike transfers from ucublu too, the second and subsequent transfer per month from your ucublu High Interest Savings Account is subject to a service charge. Transfers between any type of ucublu account and business or organizational accounts is not permitted.

12. Can I access my ucublu too account with my ATM card?

Yes, using a specially designed ucublu ATM card.

13. When can I access UCU`s internet and automated telephone banking?

UCU`s internet banking is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is safe, secure and convenient! You can also access your ucublu too account using UCU automated telephone banking at 416-922-4407 or 1-800-461-0777 (Press "1").

14. Are there transactions I cannot do with my ucublu too account?

You cannot make deposits or withdrawals to your ucublu too account in-branch at the counters of UCU. Please note that transfers between ucublu too and your full service UCU account which you make for the purposes of facilitating a deposit or withdrawal at the counters of CUCU, will be subject to a $15 service charge.

15. Will I receive a passbook with my ucublu too account?

No, a passbook is not available on the ucublu too account. You can view your statements any time through our internet banking.

16. Can I receive a monthly statement with my ucublu too account?

Statements for the current month are available on line only, at no charge. Other statement requests will be subject to a $1.00 charge for the current month, and $5.00 for each previous month requested. Once per year, after the calendar year end, UCU will mail a statement to each ucublu too account holder.

17. How is interest paid?

Interest is calculated on daily closing balance and paid to your ucublu too account on the last day of each month.

18. How often does the interest rate change?

The interest rate is a variable rate, and is subject to change without notice.

19. Is my ucublu too account safe and secure?

All dealings you have with UCU are held in the strictest of confidence and subject to the compliance standards of the new PIPEDA legislation. PIPEDA is the short form of Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. UCU takes the protection of our member`s information very seriously and we want to give you our assurances that only you will have access to your banking information when you access your ucublu too account on-line.

20. Are my ucublu too deposits insured with FSRA?

Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) insures up to $250,000 of members’ deposits at UCU. Please visit FSRA for details on deposit insurance.

22. What is your holds policy on deposits to ucublu too?

Depending on the type of deposit, a deposits ucublu too are subject to a 3 to 10 day hold. Interest will be paid from the date of deposit on all items that are not returned.

23. Are not-for-profit organizational accounts and accounts with power of attorney permitted to enroll in ucublu too No Fee Daily Account?

Yes.

24. Are business and trust accounts permitted to enroll in ucublu too No Fee Daily Banking?

No.

25. How can I protect my credit with Overdraft Protection?

Apply on-line for an Overdraft limit of up to $5,000 for those times when you are short and avoid costly and embarrassing returned debits and cheques.. A rule of thumb is that your regular payroll deposit should be sufficient to bring your Overdraft balance to zero.

26. What will happen if I overdraw my ucublu too account with a pre-authorized debit or by cheque?

The item will be returned for insufficient funds and you will be charged the customary NSF fee of UCU.

27. Will I be telephoned/e-mailed to come in and deposit money or to transfer from another account at UCU?

No. That is why it is advisable that you apply for Overdraft Protection
